In 2004, Barbara Budrich founded her press because she believed in the great value social sciences can have for society at large. At Barbara Budrich Publishers we are convinced that most of the problems societies all across the globe are facing today can be explained and ultimately solved with the knowledge social sciences provide.

Demographic change, migration, integration, social and educational inequality - these are just a few of the vast issues social sciences help to answer.

Would it not be in everybody's best interest to introduce social sciences to those halls of power where they could unfold their potential, contributing to a more livable global society?
